Chocolate Chip Cookies

I tried many recipes, a few failed, some required too much work. So I decided to tweak a recipe and I came up with this as my very own Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe. Plus who doesn’t like a chocolate chip cookie with milk, or a chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich! yum!

Ingredients

1 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)

1/2 cup granulated sugar

13 tablespoons room temperature butter (cut into small squares) (this equals to 1 stick of butter plus 5 tablespoons of another stick)

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoons of salt

2 cups chocolate chips (any kind you want)

Directions

  1. Place butter, sugars, and eggs into a mixing bowl. Mix on medium to low speed 2-3 minutes
  2. While that is mixing, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, whisk to make sure everything incorporates well.
  3. Add vanilla to the butter, sugar, egg mixture and mix for 30 seconds.
  4. Turn off the mixer and add all the flour mixture into the butter, sugar, egg mixture, mix until these ingredients combine, approximately 2 minutes, do not over mix or your cookies will be tough.
  5. Add in 2 cups of chocolate chip (these will be up to your choice, you can also add in nuts or trail mix)
  6. Use a 1/4 cup ice cream scoop to scoop out balls of dough, I use a 13×18 half sheet and I am able to fit 12 cookies in each pan, make sure they are 2 inches apart. Place the cookie sheet (with your dough balls) in the freezer for 15 minutes, meanwhile preheat your oven to 300 F.
  7. Bake your cookies 16-18 minutes or until your cookies puff up and look golden brown around the edges.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool in the baking sheet for 10 minutes.
  9. Enjoy!

Bake at 300 F for 15-16 minutes or 16-18 minutes
