Strawberry Cookie Dough

This recipe has the base of my original Sugar Cookie Dough Recipe. The few things that do change are the flavoring and the dehydrated strawberries we are adding in for flavor.

This is the strawberry flavoring that I recommend. It’s amazing and tastes very natural.

Strawberry Cookie Dough

Recipe by Cinthia MichelCourse: Cookies

Strawberry cookie dough is sweet with a hint of strawberry goodness. This recipe is very similar to my original recipe except the flavoring changes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter (unsalted)

  • 1 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg (room temp)

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1 tbsp strawberry compound from Amoretti (you can also use oil based flavoring but the flavor will result a bit more artificial)

  • 1/2 cup dehydrated strawberry powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour

Directions

  • Make sure all your ingredients are set out at least 30 minutes before baking so they have time to come down to room temperature.
  • Add butter, egg, and sugar into your mixing bowl and beat on medium speed.
  • Turn off the mixer and add in the strawberry flavoring and vanilla flavoring, mix on medium for a few minutes
  • Add in the all purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and dehydrated strawberries into the mixing bowl, and mix. Make sure everything is well incorporated, this will take approximately 3-5 minutes.
  • At this point you can roll out the dough or save it in the refrigerator or freezer for later use.
  • To roll out the dough I like to powder my Dough-EZ non-stick silicone mat with powdered sugar to help release the figures a bit better. I also use a Wilton rolling pin to help roll out the cookies and use the Dough-EZ rolling guides to help me roll out the cookies evenly.
  • Bake the cookies at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes

Notes

  • Baking time: 10 minutes gives softer cookies, 12 minutes gives crunchier cookies
  • You can bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit but keep in mind the baking times will change quite a bit so test out a small batch before baking the entire dozen
  • Powdering the rolling surface with powdered sugar will help to release your cookie shapes better, using flour to powder your surface will make the dough tougher if you re-roll the dough.
