Chocolate Chip Cookies
I tried many recipes, a few failed, some required too much work. So I decided to tweak a recipe and I came up with this as my very own Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe. Plus who doesn’t like a chocolate chip cookie with milk, or a chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich! yum!
Ingredients
1 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
13 tablespoons room temperature butter (cut into small squares) (this equals to 1 stick of butter plus 5 tablespoons of another stick)
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoons of salt
2 cups chocolate chips (any kind you want)
Directions
- Place butter, sugars, and eggs into a mixing bowl. Mix on medium to low speed 2-3 minutes
- While that is mixing, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, whisk to make sure everything incorporates well.
- Add vanilla to the butter, sugar, egg mixture and mix for 30 seconds.
- Turn off the mixer and add all the flour mixture into the butter, sugar, egg mixture, mix until these ingredients combine, approximately 2 minutes, do not over mix or your cookies will be tough.
- Add in 2 cups of chocolate chip (these will be up to your choice, you can also add in nuts or trail mix)
- Use a 1/4 cup ice cream scoop to scoop out balls of dough, I use a 13×18 half sheet and I am able to fit 12 cookies in each pan, make sure they are 2 inches apart. Place the cookie sheet (with your dough balls) in the freezer for 15 minutes, meanwhile preheat your oven to 300 F.
- Bake your cookies 16-18 minutes or until your cookies puff up and look golden brown around the edges.
- Remove from the oven and let cool in the baking sheet for 10 minutes.
- Enjoy!
Bake at 300 F for 15-16 minutes or 16-18 minutes
